System Support & Administrator (Maternity Cover)
Department: IT – Store Systems
Location: The ability to travel to Livingston is essential. You could be based in our Livingston Head Office or working from home. Normal working hours will be 8.00 – 4:30/ 9.00 - 5.30 pm. However you must be flexible as there will be an element of weekend work and night time support while the stores are trading.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
To assist in the day to day running of the Store Systems department. This would be the perfect opportunity for a retail employee looking for a new challenge and to start a career within a head office environment.
No two days can be the same – The Store Systems department maintains and supports the hardware, software, communications and network infrastructure in our stores. The team keep the systems and tech up and running to help provide a superior level of service to customers and do their utmost to answer questions, provide advice and support, as well as resolving technical issues.
* Taking calls from stores, giving advice and relaying any technical problems to the team. Such calls are likely to comprise of queries about till problems (hardware & software), mobile payment device issues, iScan, kiosks, denso, Shark, Love2shop or any related general queries.
* Logging all calls onto our call log system, updating the systems and following up on each call until it’s resolved.
* Working closely with stores on refund & exchange receipts and reconciling refund & exchange receipts weekly, generating reports for the regional management team and highlighting any inaccuracies.
* Helping and supporting store management teams to investigate any discrepancies and looking at ways to reduce discrepancies going forward.
* Ensuring that stores comply with security policies.
* You will also have your own task to manage this could be working on configuring MPDs or iScans at times and sending these to stores, reconciliation of Love2shop vouchers, Denso, Zebra sticker machines etc.
The Person
* This role would suit someone who has a keen interest in the systems we have in stores.
* You do not need to have IT experience – we will teach you the IT stuff!
* A good memory is essential as you’ll need to remember every detail about how our systems operate in order to provide telephone support to stores.
* Good organisational skills are a must, we are a busy department and you must be able to organise your workload appropriately.
* The ability to work on your own initiative but also being able to follow detailed instructions from the team is essential.
