Overview of the role
Whether you are new to the industry or have come from a social care background, we welcome your application. You’ll be provided with in-house training when you start work with Choice Care. Working alongside our permanent staff team, not only will you make a huge difference to people’s lives, but you’ll also enjoy days out, trips away, and participate in many activities, all of which ensure the people we work with are safe, happy, and lead fulfilling lives.
Key duties
* Providing personal care – including bathing, toileting, dressing, and help with feeding
* Medication administration
* Assisting and engaging in residents' daily activities, hobbies, or outings
* Following care plan guidance alongside company policies and procedures
* Developing an open, honest, and considerate working relationship with residents
* Maintaining written daily records
* Attending and completing training, as required

Being patient, reliable, flexible, a team player, and a good communicator are key characteristics of a successful Bank Social Care Worker.

Where will you work?
Albert Lodge provides residential support for up to six residents with mental health conditions and complex needs. High-quality, 24-hour support is provided for individuals transitioning back into the community after hospital or forensic services. The goal is to support residents in all aspects of their lives, such as personal budgeting and daily living skills. Some residents attend college or participate in local voluntary work. The home is centrally located in Southsea, close to amenities, the seafront, Southsea Common, and local shops. Portsmouth’s main shopping area is only a 20-minute walk away, with excellent bus and rail links.
