Sheffield Woodland Kindergarten is a small early years' company based in Sheffield. We have two kindergartens which are both fully outdoors and pride ourselves on offering something a little different to our children and families.
We are looking for an apprentice to join our team at our Lynwood Gardens setting who has a passion for building a career with children in an outdoor learning environment. Once you have gained your early years qualification with us, we will continue to support you to develop your knowledge and skills within the early years sector, and we hope for you to be able to progress within our company in future years.
You could be an ideal candidate if:
* you're not afraid to work outdoors and will enjoy splashing in the puddles, dancing in the rain, singing in the sun and running against the wind
* you enjoy the idea of creating activities and immersing yourself in play which engages and ignites curiosity in children, supporting them to learn and develop
* you are confident in putting on silly voices, pretending to be a pirate, and will enjoy a a good feast cooked in a mud kitchen - although our mud kitchen lacks a 5* food hygiene rating due to the mud, woodlice and worms the chefs can certainly whip you up a creative dish
* you have a good sense of humour
* you can communicate well with a range of people
* you're organised, hardworking, willing to learn and up for a challenge
During your apprenticeship you will:
* be working 3 or 4 days a week
* gain a level 2 or 3 qualification in early years through our apprenticeship provider
* be working as part of supportive and welcoming team and be part of a small community
* be given time to complete your 'off the job' hours such as time spent completing training courses and shadowing our experienced practitioners.
* learn how to build dens and cook delicious snacks over a fire
* learn how to support children's learning and development, build partnerships with parents, and learn the requirements of the Early Years Statutory Framework
If accepted for the position... it won't be long until you're confident in tying ropes, creating shelters, and building fires to cook a range of tasty snacks on

We are committed to safeguarding children. Two satisfactory references alongside a clear and enhanced DBS check is required to be considered for this role. Safeguarding training will be provided upon employment and we provide opportunities for staff to complete and refresh their safeguarding knowledge regularly.
To be considered for this position you must have maths and English qualifications already or be capable of completing these alongside your early years apprenticeship.
