Project Accountant - Leeds | £50,000 + Benefits | Strategic & Commercial Focus
Robert Half Finance & Accounting are working with a growing, multinational organisation based in Leeds to recruit a Project Accountant into their Finance team. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to work across a wide range of high-impact financial projects, supporting senior stakeholders and contributing to the strategic direction of the business.
This is an ideal role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety, and is confident working with large data sets and advanced Excel models.
Key Responsibilities:
* Analyse and interpret Excel-based models
* Perform detailed data analysis and financial modelling using Excel (Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas)
* Build dynamic Excel models and dashboards to support transformation and strategic projects
* Assist with due diligence and financial modelling for acquisitions
* Provide ad-hoc support to Group Finance teams during key periods (e.g. budgeting, forecasting)
* Draft technical accounting memos and reconciliations supported by Excel-based evidence
* Collaborate with Regional Finance Directors and senior stakeholders across the business
* Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and SOX requirements
About You:
* Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Strong commercial awareness and analytical mindset
* Advanced Excel skills are essential - including experience working with large data sets
* Confident communicator with the ability to present insights clearly to senior stakeholders
* Comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
* Experience in a multinational and multi-currency organisation is desirable
