Qualified Primary Teacher or Experienced Tutor
£25.00–£35.00 per hour PAYE + Paid Planning & Preparation Time
Equivalent to approximately £30.00–£42.00 per hour

New Chapter Tuition is recruiting passionate education professionals to deliver personalised 1:1 tuition for children and young people across South East London.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work closely with individual learners, helping them build confidence, close learning gaps, and achieve positive educational outcomes through tailored support.
Many of the learners we support are unable to access full-time education and may require additional support due to SEND, anxiety, school avoidance, medical needs, EHCP-linked needs, or other barriers to learning.
About the Role
You will deliver engaging and personalised tuition, primarily supporting learners working at Key Stage 2 level in English and Maths.
Sessions are delivered on a 1:1 basis, allowing you to focus on each learner's individual strengths, needs, and learning style.
The Role Includes
• Delivering personalised KS2 English and Maths tuition
• Planning engaging and differentiated learning activities
• Identifying gaps in learning and delivering targeted intervention
• Supporting learners to develop confidence, engagement, and independence
• Monitoring progress and completing session feedback
• Working collaboratively with families, schools, Local Authorities, and other professionals

• Autism (ASC)
• ADHD
• Dyslexia
• SEMH needs
• Anxiety and EBSA
• Medical needs
• Alternative Provision and EOTAS pathways
Where Tuition Takes Place
• Learners' homes
• Libraries
• Community venues
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and/or substantial tutoring experience
Experience supporting learners working at Key Stage 2 level
Confidence delivering English and Maths tuition
Experience supporting learners with SEND is desirable
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred) or willingness to obtain one
Right to work in the UK
