We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Technician with a strong focus on processing LiDAR point cloud data into accurate 2D CAD plans. This role is essential for producing measured building surveys including floor plans, elevations, and sections, with an emphasis on branding space planning rather than construction or architectural design. You will work closely with surveyors, project managers, designers, and the LiDAR Project Manager to convert 3D scan data into precise and editable CAD deliverables that support spatial visualization, environmental branding, and immersive AR/VR experiences.We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Technical Project Manager to establish and lead our new LiDAR Scanning Team. This pivotal role involves spearheading the implementation and integration of Faro Focus, Faro Blink, and Sphere XG software into our operations. You will initially take the lead on field scanning activities, team development, and process implementation, laying the foundation for a high-performing internal LiDAR unit. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Import, register, and process LiDAR point cloud data to extract accurate 2D floor plans, sections, and elevations. Develop detailed measured building surveys using Rhino and On-shape or similar CAD platforms. Interpret and translate scan data for non-construction spatial planning (e.g., branded environments, venues, event spaces). Ensure compatibility with AR/VR visualization platforms and maintain structured CAD data for downstream creative use. Collaborate with the LiDAR Project Manager and cross-functional teams to meet quality and delivery standards. Maintain high standards of file management, layer control, and version tracking across projects. Team Leadership & Development recruit, train, and manage a new LiDAR scanning team comprising QA/QC Lead & Analyst and Field Technicians Provide ongoing technical training and mentorship to team members and relevant staff across the business. Project & Technical Management plan, coordinate, and execute LiDAR scanning projects using Faro Focus and Blink hardware. Implement workflows using Sphere XG software for data capture, processing, and sharing. Ensure quality and consistency in deliverables across scanning projects. Process & System Integration, design and implement scalable scanning and QA/QC processes that align with business goals. Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for LiDAR deployment and integration. Stakeholder Engagement, act as the main technical point of contact for internal stakeholders on all LiDAR-related activities. Collaborate across departments to embed LiDAR insights into broader project workflows and business operations. Training & Support, conduct in-field training for team members and knowledge-sharing sessions for other departments. Develop training materials and documentation to support business-wide adoption of LiDAR capabilities. THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED Proficient in handling and interpreting LiDAR point cloud data. Strong hands-on experience with FARO scanning products and Sphere XG software. Advanced skills with Rhino and On-shape CAD environments. Awareness of AR/VR workflows and data compatibility considerations. Basic understanding of 3D rendering and modelling (preferred, not essential). Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or similar graphic packages for visual outputs. Willingness to be hands-on with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholder expectations simultaneously. Methodical, with a passion for technical precision. Strong communication and organizational skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently under the guidance of the LiDAR Project Manager. Comfortable in a dynamic, design-led environment where technical data informs creative outcomes. 2–5 years experience in CAD drafting, preferably focused on measured surveys, point cloud conversion, or venue modelling. Experience working within branded spaces, events, or environmental design industries is highly desirable. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to spatial accuracy. Willingness to be primarily based in Orpington (with hybrid flexibility), and open to occasional international travel to support global initiatives and supplier relationships.
