About the Role

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic professionals who have a passion for delivering an excellent customer experience are committed to continuous improvement and are aligned with the Council's core values. You'll play a key role in a forward-thinking, adaptable, and collaborative procurement team that strives for excellence in procurement delivery.

You will be joining our dynamic, multi award-winning procurement team at a pivotal moment as we champion excellence and innovation through our category-led procurement approach.

As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will be self-motivated and experienced of working within a fast-paced, forward-thinking environment. You will play a key role in supporting a diverse and demanding procurement pipeline, ensuring value for money is achieved through the procurement of goods, services and works via 3rd party providers. Your role will be critical in delivering best value and ensuring full compliance with the Council's Contract Procedure Rules and national procurement legislation.

The Procurement Team

The Councils procurement team is aligned to the following strategic areas:

* People (Adults, Public Health and Children's)
* Built Environment (includes Housing, Facilities Management, Transport, Environment and Waste)
* Construction & Infrastructure
* Corporate & IT

What we're Looking for

* Knowledge and experience of public sector procurement processes and national procurement legislation.
* An awareness of various industries/supply chain challenges.
* Excellent IT skills and experience or awareness of using electronic purchasing systems e.g., YORtender, SAP or alternative systems.
* A team player who is solution focused with a flexible style of approach, able to use own initiative and ready to take on any challenge.
* Experience of managing relationships, motivating and influencing stakeholders, and effective communication at all levels.
* Ability to search, analyse and present information in different formats and to different audiences.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
* Demonstrates willingness to work towards achieving the Level 4 CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply).

The interviews are expected to take place week commencing 10th November.
