Overview
This post is based at the Springview Mental Health Unit, Clatterbridge Hospital and you will work across multiple wards, which may include: three acute adult mental health assessment wards; a ward for people with dementia; and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
Responsibilities
* Work as part of the Occupational Therapy team to plan and facilitate a varied programme of therapeutic activities, in small groups or individually with service users.
* Show awareness of Occupational Therapy and mental health conditions; manage risk; record clinical documentation accordingly.
* Collaborate with the entire Occupational Therapy team (including experienced Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Technical Instructors) and the integrated multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure a seamless and supportive care experience for every individual.
All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date, which offers up to 3 weeks training to support induction requirements.

Qualifications & Attributes
* Essential: Completed care certificate OR experience in a health care setting OR experience within an Occupational Therapy setting.
* Desirable: Training in disability equipment; care certificate; excellent verbal and written communication skills; coordination and organisational skills; basic risk assessment and risk management skills; ability to work autonomously and collaboratively; basic computer literacy; understanding of issues affecting older people with mental health problems; awareness of issues affecting health and social care.
* Desirable: Skills in leading groups; experience with a variety of activities and interventions relevant to the post including creative activities and domestic skills.
* Experience in a health care setting is preferred.
* Experience in AMH area is desirable.
