Shift pattern - Monday - Friday standard hours
We are looking for someone who is committed to working in a demanding but enjoyable role in the NHS with the varied portfolio of services that are managed within the Research and Innovation Directorate.
Working with the Head of R&I Finance and Principal Finance Manager you will be responsible for leading the Directorate Finance Team in the provision of a professional financial management service to key stakeholders across Health, Academia and Industry.
You will be competent in the management of financial information, financial reporting, budgetary control processes and governance arrangements.
Ideally a professionally qualified accountant (or with equivalent work experience) you will be highly motivated and able to use initiative with excellent IT, communication and organisational skills.
Capable of working with finance, clinical and non clinical staff at all levels, you will have the capacity for analytical and innovative thinking and a track record of delivering to strict timelines within a dynamic environment.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
