Wrexham Council is recruiting a strategic and dynamic Chief Officer for Economy, Planning, Public Protection & Regulatory Services to lead a service at the heart of the area’s continued transformation and economic ambition.
Wrexham as a city and county borough is experiencing significant growth, investment and national attention. As our new Chief Officer, you will be central to shaping sustainable economic development, strategic planning, regeneration and place making across a unique and vibrant city and region.
In this influential leadership role, you will:
* Drive economic growth, inward investment and business development across the city and county borough
* Lead strategic planning, development management and place making with a focus on sustainable, future ready communities
* Oversee regeneration programmes that enhance prosperity, connectivity and quality of life
* Provide expert guidance on planning policy and long-term spatial strategy
* Balance economic ambition with environmental responsibilities and financial challenges
* Ensure compliance with legislation through delivering a highly skilled and specialist Public Protection service
* Work closely with Elected Members, Senior Leaders, regional partners, businesses and developers to deliver the Council Plan
