Overview
Mixture of remote and assessment centre working, offering an exceptional work-life balance. Qualified nurses, physiotherapists, paramedics, pharmacists or occupational therapists are invited to apply for a Functional Assessor role to support Personal Independence Payment (PIP) assessments as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS).
You will work autonomously to assess claimants, completing assessments remotely or in an office setting, and use your clinical experience to understand how health conditions affect daily life. A fully paid training programme is provided, and the role contributes to clinical hours to support ongoing registration.
Location flexibility includes hybrid arrangements designed to support work-life balance.
Responsibilities
* Use clinical experience to assess individuals with a broad range of health conditions and evaluate how their disability impacts daily life.
* Conduct detailed, respectful assessments over the telephone, by video, or face-to-face in an office environment or remotely.
* Interpret medical evidence and document findings in a comprehensive report to support DWP decision-making.
Requirements
* We are accepting applications from Qualified Nurses, Physiotherapists, Paramedics, Pharmacists or Occupational Therapists for this vacancy.
* NMC/HCPC registration is required.
* At least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback; excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is essential.
