Assistant General Manager | Full Time
At Wagamama, we’re an eating house for the soul. With over 160 UK restaurants and growing, our purpose is to nourish the world from bowl to soul. Inspired by fast-paced, Japanese ramen bars since 1992, Wagamama celebrates Asian food brought to life.
We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to join us on our journey of true nourishment.
The role:
As an Assistant General Manager, you'll be a key part of the restaurant leadership team, supporting the General Manager in leading the restaurant in the Wagamama way. You’ll embody our values and leadership behaviors, inspiring and motivating your team to deliver exceptional service and exceed guest expectations. A passion for people, food, hospitality, and making positive change is essential.
Benefits include a competitive salary, a £3000 annual bonus opportunity, an average of £140 tips per week*, access to Wagestream for up to 30% of earnings before payday, a dedicated 6-week training program, free Wagamama food allowance (£14-£25) per shift, discounts at Wagamama and other TRG brands, internal progression opportunities, wellness programs, family-friendly policies, and financial wellbeing support.
What we look for:
* An experienced hospitality manager capable of leading a restaurant team positively in a fast-paced, complex environment.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to have meaningful conversations and support your team.
* Experience in understanding restaurant financials and identifying opportunities.
* Ability to manage budgets and labor costs.
* Leadership experience in team performance and development.
* Inspiring and engaging leadership style that fosters growth and nourishment in careers.
* Problem-solving skills with quick decision-making abilities.
The Wagamama way:
Our philosophy of Kaizen—meaning 'good change'—drives us to continuously improve in all areas, from our food to our work environment. We celebrate diversity, personality, and individuality, creating inclusive spaces where everyone’s unique story is valued. We promise to support our team with trust, support, and open conversations.
Join us and be your true self. Be you, be Wagamama.
Wagamama is proudly part of Disability Confident.
*Tips are 100% for our teams and vary by restaurant. They are not guaranteed wages and are at guest discretion.
