Secondary Maths Teacher-September Start
We are seeking an enthusiastic and talented Maths Teacher to join our successful and supportive Mathematics Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably qualified candidates.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated teacher—whether experienced or newly qualified—to inspire students, raise attainment, and foster a genuine appreciation for mathematics in a welcoming school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality and engaging Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum.
2. Teach across the full age and ability range, ensuring all pupils are appropriately challenged and supported.
3. Monitor student progress through effective assessment and provide timely feedback to support improvement.
4. Contribute to the development of departmental resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies.
5. Maintain high expectations of behaviour, attendance, and work ethic.
6. Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, training, and school events.
7. Uphold the school’s values and contribute to its positive ethos and culture.
Person Specification:
Essential:
8. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
9. A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject
10. Experience teaching Maths at secondary level (Key Stages 3 and 4)
11. Strong subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics
12. Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
13. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students
Desirable:
14. Experience or willingness to teach Key Stage 5
15. Familiarity with recent developments in maths education and pedagogy
16. Interest in contributing to extracurricular maths activities or enrichment programmes
