We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to join our Chez Roux kitchen brigade. Chez Roux is overseen by the famous Michel Roux Jnr. This role is to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and overall back area of the hotel at all times. You will report to the Head Chef and complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks, whilst also helping on the pot wash and pantry wash up area as required. We are located on a main bus route so driving is not essential and hours would suit the bus schedule. What You’ll Do As a Kitchen Porter, Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced culinary environment. The Kitchen Porter will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen is clean, organised, and well-equipped. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation and hospitality, and who are eager to learn and grow within the culinary field. Duties Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans. Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or cooks. Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored properly after use. Help with the delivery and storage of food supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained. Support chefs during busy service periods by providing assistance where needed. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in maintaining high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen. Experience Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential. A keen interest in culinary arts and food preparation is highly valued. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment within the hospitality sector. Strong organisational skills with attention to detail. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff.
