VMWare Engineer
* Location: Bracknell, fully onsite
* Job Type: Interim (8 months initially)
* Salary: £500 per day via Umbrella
* Security Clearance: DV vetting required
We are seeking a VMWare Engineer to join an established programme team for a large Government account. The role involves building and configuring ESX devices as per build guides within a deployment team. This position requires a professional who can effectively work within a team, manage multiple tasks, and provide reliable support during the rollout of hardware.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Build and configure ESX devices according to specific build guides.
* Work as part of a deployment team to roll out hardware solutions.
* Visit customer sites to install hardware within racks.
* Provide remote support of hardware during customer testing.
* Regularly update the Project Manager and team lead on progress.
* Engage with service teams to ensure new hardware is effectively taken into support.
* Be flexible with work hours as some implementations may occur outside normal working hours due to customer activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven track record as an infrastructure engineer in a project environment, building solutions from build guides.
* Broad technical skills across an enterprise environment, with demonstrated skills in infrastructure management, VMWare/VSphere support, and implementation.
* Ability to work well within a team and develop positive working relationships with other project teams.
* Excellent communication skills for interactions with peers, management, and customers.
* High attention to detail.
* Experience working for large government customers.
* Self-starter who can implement solutions with minimal supervision and effectively troubleshoot issues.
* Flexibility in terms of working hours to accommodate customer needs.
