The role:
Due to school expansion, the school are seeking an enthusiastic Band 5/6 Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join their supportive multidisciplinary team. The role provides the opportunity to deliver high-quality therapy sessions while working closely with experienced colleagues.
* Be part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including a Lead Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and Speech and Language Therapy Assistant
* Deliver hands-on therapy sessions supporting students with Autism and severe learning difficulties
* Opportunities to work from home throughout the academic year for admin-heavy tasks and reports
* Work within a dynamic therapy model that combines classroom-based support and dedicated therapy sessions
* Play a pivotal role in upskilling school staff through coaching and training, so communication strategies are embedded across the school day
* Support families through workshops and phone clinics to help develop communication at home
* Use a flexible approach combining direct therapy and consultative support to meet diverse pupil needs
The ideal candidate:
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registration and RCSLT membership
* Experience working with children or young adults within a school setting with Autism and/or additional learning needs
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to EHCPs or multidisciplinary reviews
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* Newly qualified SaLTs with paediatric experience are encouraged to apply!
