This post offers an exciting opportunity to join an excellent Respiratory team in Swansea Bay University Health Board
The post holder will work within the Respiratory team and will provide specialist advice and coordinate the care of patients with respiratory conditions with a particular focus on Non-invasive ventilation, Oxygen therapy and Bronchiectasis as well as general respiratory care .
Experience of NIV and Bronchiectasis in the community setting is essential
Main duties of the job
You will provide specialist care for NIV, oxygen Bronchiectasis and general respiratory in both the acute inpatient setting and community
You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team coordinating and developing the service and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals across acute, community, primary and secondary care to provide patient centred service.
The main duties within your role would include:
To plan, evaluate treatment and care for respiratory patients using the required assessment tools, agreed pathways and clinical guidelines.
Assess patients suitability for long term oxygen therapy and prescribing within guidance as required
Delivering patient specific care within their sub specialities i.e. Neuromuscular, BIPAP, oxygen ,Bronchiectasis and general respiratory .
To assess patients and provide specialist respiratory advice for their care
To participate in MDT working to improve patient centred care
To support Outpatient clinics and take a lead role in these
To provide education and support to hospital ward staff, student nurses and the wider community teams
To participate in audit and service development projects
The post will be based in both NPT ,Morriston and Singleton as well as working in community

3. Evidence of comprehensive & advanced CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent highly specialised postgraduate courses/training relevant to the role
