We are currently recruiting on behalf of a scale-up Fintech for an Junior Financial Accountant to join their team to facilitate the smooth running of their core financial processes. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close, and assisting with audit preparation. Over time, there is potential for the role to expand into broader financial and operational reporting responsibilities
This is a permanent position, with both full and part time working arrangements considered. Our client offers flexible hybrid working and the salary is £35,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience + Benefits.
Junior Financial Accountant duties and responsibilities:
* Process supplier invoices and manage bill payments.
* Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash records.
* Prepare and post basic accounting journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and deferred income.
* Support the month-end close process and assist with the preparation of management accounts.
* Assist with annual audit preparation and respond to auditor queries.
* Maintain financial documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.
* Collaborate with the wider team to support ad hoc finance and reporting tasks.
* Over time, contribute to company-wide metrics and management reporting.
Junior Financial Accountant key skills and experience required:
* A dependable, results-driven and hands-on individual.
* Experience of working through the full accounting lifecycle.
* Demonstrable knowledge and experience of invoicing, accruals, pre-payments, bank reconciliations and journaling.
* Proven experience in supporting the month-end close process and assisting with the preparation of management accounts.
* Proficient in using Xero.
* Logical mindset, with a high attention to detail.
* Team orientated individual, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
