We are pleased to offer a Network and Customer Service Technician position in Redruth. This is a full-time, permanent role, 37 hours per week, with a competitive salary of £26,926 - £29,268 per annum (DOE). The role includes support through a Networks & Leakage progression scheme, potentially earning up to £33,950 per annum, along with overtime, a company van, and rewards.
About the role:
You will provide dedicated network operation and maintenance services, using a hands-on approach to resolve issues efficiently and support partners in safe, cost-effective repairs and maintenance.
Collaboration with the wider Drinking Water Services team is vital to maintain and record the water supply network effectively. The role involves participation in a rota standby and flexible working arrangements.
Progression Scheme:
Our employment package includes a tailored progression scheme focusing on qualifications, skills, and experience, leading to a Level 3 Diploma in Water Operations or Management. The company covers training costs of £7,280 for industry-recognized qualifications, supporting career growth within the water industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain good relations with customers, authorities, and colleagues, handling queries and complaints to resolution.
2. Conduct maintenance and repairs on network assets to prevent service interruptions and ensure water quality, recording all actions appropriately.
3. Work to prevent supply interruptions, and when they occur, implement mitigations such as safe zoning and alternative water supplies.
4. Operate the network to ensure safe water provision, complying with quality regulations and maintaining customer confidence.
5. Collaborate with teams, partners, and contractors on maintenance activities, including cyclic maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
Essential Criteria:
* Five GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths, English, and Science at grades A-C.
* Experience with standby rotations and urgent operational responses.
* Proficiency with MS Office, GIS, work management, and data logging systems.
* Valid UK driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Relevant NVQ, City and Guilds, or ONC qualifications in water networks.
* Streetworks certification and experience with the New Roads and Street Works Act.
* Experience in water distribution or hydraulic systems.
