What you'll do
This role is part of a Backbase product team in R&D, comprising experienced UX designers, software engineers, QA engineers, and technical writers. You will contribute to new and existing functionalities, proof of concepts, and technical improvements for the Engagement Banking Platform. Your team is responsible for the entire software development life cycle, from idea to release.
We follow agile methodologies to deliver new product increments through short cycles, collaborating closely with other departments and customers. You are expected to take ownership of your work and proactively collaborate with architects, QA engineers, and team members to ensure implementations align with our technical vision and best practices.
Backbase offers a modern software solution built on microservices architecture, enabling financial institutions to leverage cutting-edge technology. We adopt principles like continuous integration and delivery, and follow Agile practices that promote rapid, autonomous decision-making within teams.
The technology stack includes Spring Boot, Netflix OSS, and our own libraries, supporting solutions ranging from cloud-native deployments to on-premise managed servers, all within a regulated banking environment requiring innovative and smart solutions.
Who you are
* You have a solid background in software development and design.
* You communicate clearly and confidently across all levels, gaining buy-in from technical stakeholders and team members.
* You have experience with Java, Spring, Maven, CI/CD.
* You are familiar with microservices, Kubernetes, and containerized deployment.
* You have knowledge of relational databases.
* You understand non-functional requirements like security, performance, and scalability.
* Experience in banking or Fintech is a plus.
