Job Description
A prominent mixed-use estate in West London is seeking an experienced Estate Property Accountant to take ownership of rental income management, service charge accounting and financial controls across a complex, high-volume environment.
This is a key role within the estate finance team, offering breadth, autonomy and the chance to help shape best-practice processes as the estate continues a major multi-year redevelopment programme. You will act as a trusted partner to senior management, external auditors, tenants and internal operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Rental & Tenant Accounting
* End-to-end control of rental income, including billing, receipting and tenant ledger accuracy
* Preparation and review of completion statements
* Insurance and utilities recharges and reconciliations
* Funding request management
Treasury & Banking
* Oversight of treasury activities including deposit management and bank reconciliations
* Supplier payments (BACS / EFT)
* OPEX funding controls
Service Charge Management
* Full ownership of service charge budgets, quarterly accounts and year-end reconciliations
* Apportionment setup, billing and commentary support
* Enhancing service charge reporting templates and controls
Reporting & Compliance
* Month-end reporting and expense journals
* VAT and client reporting
* Cash balance reconciliations
* Internal and external audit liaison (including CIS)
Data, Systems & Process Improvement
* Onboarding of leases and management agreements
* Maintaining accurate property/lease data and tenancy schedules
* Driving system improvements with Yardi (reporting, database structures, workflow optimisation)
* Supporting implementation of new PO management and audit frameworks
Experience & Skills
We are looking for someone who brings:
* Significant experience as a Senior Property or Service Charge Accountant, ideally within complex commercial or mixed-use estates
* Strong understanding of RICS service charge regulations, VAT and CIS
* Confidence reading and interpreting complex leases
* Proven stakeholder management skills across tenants, auditors, leadership and operations
* Hands-on experience with Yardi (essential) and advanced Excel skills
* Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving capability
Professional qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or QBE) are all welcomed.
Workplace
This role is site-based in West London, typically four days on-site to stay closely aligned with estate operations and stakeholders.
