Join the Data Governance, Management and Quality (DGMQ) team to drive key data governance capabilities: Business Glossary, Metadata, Reference Data, Lineage and Quality Management. Salary Information
Pay: Circa £55,000 per year, based on relevant experience, skills and location.
Key Accountabilities
* Lead and perform analysis and develop foundational data management products to deliver a comprehensive end‑to‑end business offering (Business Glossary, Metadata Management, RDM, Data Lineage, Data Quality, etc).
* Deliver on the data management strategy, enabling products that support the organisation to achieve great outcomes for customers.
* Build relationships and collaborate with business stakeholders to create data‑driven solutions to business problems.
* Drive a better understanding of data value with stakeholders and customers, contributing to improvements in data management, quality and governance.
* Work autonomously, take ownership of workstreams and communicate the value of Data Governance to business or technical teams, supporting lasting change toward a data‑driven workforce.
* Support the definition and implementation of data management concepts, frameworks and best practices across business processes and technology‑enabled change.
* Create or enhance processes and standards, continuously improving the organisation’s data maturity within data teams and business areas.
* Drive adoption of the Data Ownership framework, Data Catalogue and Data Quality processes in Allianz UK.
* Support cataloguing of datastores with Informatica’s IDMC, enabling harvesting of technical metadata, custom scans and custom data lineage.
* Support hands‑on analysis of datasets through data quality profiling and monitoring tools and customer dashboards.
* Troubleshoot hurdles that limit business adoption of data processes and tools.
* Be a benchmark for the team in innovation, problem‑solving and sharing best practices.
About You
* Knowledgeable and experienced in multiple areas of data governance/management (Metadata, MDM/RDM, Modelling, Business Analysis in a data space, etc.) with enthusiasm to learn more.
* Experienced in delivering presentations to a variety of stakeholders, tailoring content and tone to their needs.
* Prior use of the Informatica governance toolset (AXON or IDMC) is highly desirable; training will be provided.
* Proficient in working across cross‑functional teams that support Data products and applications, engaging with business leaders and operational teams on data ownership and stewardship.
* Experience with data management systems such as IBM IIS, Azure, DataBricks, SAS is beneficial but not compulsory.
* Awareness of KPI importance for monitoring business outputs and project implementations, with familiarity of BI software (Cognos, MicroStrategy, PowerBI, etc.).
* Technically competent yet able to explain complex concepts to non‑technical audiences.
* Experience of data analysis in financial services is beneficial.
* Experience implementing Data management policies, standards and frameworks.
* Understanding of data that supports Personal and Commercial Insurance organisations.
* Experience working in an Agile project environment or managing large items of work—ideally in data context.
* Keen to develop new skills.
* Excellent communication skills, team player, self‑starter.
* Organised, strong work ethic, results‑driven and proven to hit deadlines.
* Ability to prioritise and work across multiple projects and stakeholders.
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent vocational qualification in a Data‑related subject (e.g., DAMA).
