Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit a Mechanical Engineer to work at an Energy from Waste plant in Gloucestershire.This Mechanical Engineer role comes with a salary of £55,000 - £62,000 per year plus benefits and has Monday to Friday working hours.If you're an experienced Mechanical Technician or Engineer with a background in heavy process industries or defence, submit your CV to apply today.Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Engineer roleReporting to the Maintenance Manager you will:Oversee mechanical maintenance of plant equipmentMonitor rotating machinery and ensure safe operationCoordinate shutdown and maintenance planning across disciplinesMaintain compliance with statutory inspections and documentationManage safety systems, lifting gear, and pressure systemsSupport accident, incident and near-miss investigationsLead mechanical personnel and manage related departmental dutiesReview and recommend spare parts holdingsSet and manage the mechanical department budgetProfessional qualificationsWe are looking for someone with the following:Engineering background within power generation such as Energy from Waste, CCGT, Biomass, Oil, Coal, or marine engineeringCompetency in relevant safety legislation and industry standards5+ years of relevant experienceFamiliarity with equipment inspections, safe systems of work, and technical documentationPersonal skillsThe Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who is:Comfortable working in a demanding environmentEffective at prioritising and decision-makingConfident with written and verbal communicationComputer literateSalary and benefits of the Mechanical Engineer role£55,000 - £62,000 + benefitsMonday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pmOvertime at 1.5x hourly rate25 days of annual leave + bank holidaysPension contribution and discretionary bonus schemeINDPOWAstute People are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
