The Fleet Services Team plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and legal operation of the Council's fleet and workforce. This helps the Council fulfill its legal and moral obligations related to statutory services.
Team Responsibilities
1. Managing a diverse fleet including waste and recycling vehicles, street scene vehicles, pool cars, gritters, tipper trucks, coaches, minibuses, library vans, and fire appliances.
2. Maintaining over 1,000 items of plant such as trailers, mowers, and power tools.
3. Providing fleet management services, including procurement of fuel, fuel cards, vehicle telematics, pool car administration, vehicle insurance, and taxation.
4. Supporting procurement exercises and ensuring fleet compliance and driver training to adhere to relevant legislation and guidance.
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a Training and Compliance Officer to join a small team. The role involves delivering training both in person and online, in vehicles and classrooms. The ideal candidate will share the Council's values, have a passion for growth, and be eager to develop their skills. This position is suitable for current training or compliance officers or those with experience in local authority services aiming to advance their careers.
