The Role
You will e a highly motivated Senior Operations Manager overseeing the effective delivery of frontline services within Streetscene & Environmental Services, including Street Cleansing, Winter Weather Services, and Waste & Recycling collections. Ideally you will have a background in Waste Services or a similar backgound in operations/logistics.
As a Senior Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the planning, delivery, and monitoring of essential environmental services. You will manage the daily operations of a busy Waste Operations site, ensuring smooth workflow, operational efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. You will lead and inspire a large team of operational staff, driving continuous improvement, high performance, and excellent customer service across all service areas.
Responsibilities
* Oversee and support operational delivery across Streetscene & Environmental Services, including Waste, Recycling, Street Cleansing, and Winter Weather operations.
* Manage daily site operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and a strong safety culture.
* Lead, motivate, and develop large multi-disciplinary teams to maximise productivity and performance.
* Plan and monitor service delivery, ensuring operational targets and standards are met.
* Collaborate effectively with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to maintain service quality and resolve operational challenges.
* Contribute to strategic planning and service development initiatives.
Candidate Criteria
* Significant experience in managing large-scale, front-line operational services and multi-disciplinary teams.
* Proven ability to lead teams through change while maintaining focus on service delivery and staff engagement.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage colleagues, partners, and stakeholders with confidence and credibility.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
