What you will do:
1. Responsible for developing and providing IT configuration management to the IT Organisation and for the configuration and hardware asset management processes, governance, and reporting.
2. Take responsibility for building the CMDB to centralise our IT data source to aid in IT day to day activities.
3. Investigate and identifying the various inventories used across Metro Bank for integration with Configuration Management.
4. Develop the relationship models to ensure that Configuration Items are correctly mapped to aid in Incident and Change impact activities.
5. Using our ITSM tool (ServiceNow), establish the Discovery layers to capture to build our CMDB.
6. Establish the Configuration Management and hardware asset management processes, working with the wider Service Management and Service Operation teams.
7. Ensure that data loading of Configuration Items outside of discovery is completed in a timely manner to maintain the effectiveness of the CMDB.

What you will need:
1. Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
2. You will need to be able to have a working knowledge of a CMDB, the structure, terminology and surrounding processes to support configuration management.
3. A working knowledge of ServiceNow discovery, best practice, relationships and how CIs map across the CMDB.
4. Experience in the creation of a CMDB from ground up and management thereafter.
5. The ability to liaise with our internal Service Management teams to establish the value of Configuration Management.
6. Experience in relationship mapping of infrastructure.
