An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The responsibilities include overseeing credit-related activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have experience working within a busy credit control team,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the lead contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims promptly, and assist in renewal negotiations,
* Organise and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and other reports,
* Manage cash collection for all Group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are effective and followed,
* Oversee the Credit Control Department and manage the team proactively,
* Handle credit applications and provision of PODs,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Manage litigation, insolvency matters, and pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Assess risks for existing accounts and new applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders,
* Review Terms and Conditions for sales,
* Visit customers and sites as required.
