Abney & Baker - The Preventative Care Company Helping People Need Less Care
If you believe that great home care should be proactive, not just reactive, this role is for you.
We are looking for a flexible, people-focused Deputy Client Support Manager to work across our Bath and Melksham offices and the surrounding communities. You'll help clients stay independent for longer by spotting risks early, coaching colleagues, and coordinating support that prevents crises before they happen.
What You'll Do:
* Lead proactive client reviews - turn routine check-ins into prevention plans: identify early changes, set goals with clients and families, and agree simple daily actions that support independence.
* Coach and supervise care teams - build capability through strengths-based supervisions, quick learning huddles, and follow-ups that turn insights from visits into better everyday practice.
* Plan and organise services - schedule with prevention in mind: the right person, at the right time, with the right plan. Escalate early when risks rise and adjust plans quickly.
* Participate in on-call - provide calm, practical support out of hours to keep people safe and avoid unnecessary escalation.
* Work across the company - link with other managers, trainers, and care team members to maintain high standards and consistent preventative care across every visit.
* Support flexibly across areas - travel regularly between our Bath and Melksham offices and visit clients and carers in surrounding communities.
What Success Looks Like:
* Clients have clear, living preventative care plans with goals they value.
* Fewer last-minute changes because risks are spotted and acted on early.
* Colleagues feel supported, capable, and confident to deliver preventative care.
* Documentation is timely, accurate, and informs day-to-day decisions.
About You
* An adaptable problem-solver who notices the small changes that matter.
* A great communicator and coach, confident giving clear guidance and constructive feedback.
* Organised and decisive, with the ability to prioritise and act quickly.
* Values-driven with a passion for enabling independence and dignity.
Essential
* At least 1 year of domiciliary care experience
* Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards it)
* Valid driving licence and access to a car (for travel across Bath, Melksham & surrounding areas)
* Right to work in the UK and proof of settled status
* Good written and spoken English
Desirable
* Experience in client support
* Commercial awareness
The Offer
* Permanent full-time role (part time/job share considered)
* Salary: £28,340 per year (based on 40 hours)
* Growth-related bonus: Additional payments for contributing to business development
* On-call supplement: £60 per full week when on the rota
* Ongoing training and career progression - over 75% of our managers started as carers with us
* A supportive and friendly team that celebrates outcomes clients care about
"I always felt like I was fighting a losing battle with my previous employer but it's the complete opposite here. I'm so happy with the way I'm treated and the level of respect I feel."
