Overview
As a Head of FP&A, Northern Europe, within the Finance department you will have ownership and responsibility to implement the finance management strategy reporting to the Finance Director. You will business partner the Retail and HO functions to drive the business forward and support the profitability of Northern Europe composed of: UK, Ireland, BeneLux, Nordics.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the monthly finance management reporting, budgets and ad hoc analyses; bring agility and business solutions to the department.
* Partner with the Finance Director, General Manager, EMEA finance zone and Retail Directors; support the business in all aspects of finance management.
* Manage the finance management team and partner the full finance department.
* Be the next in line and direct support to the Finance Director.
* Reporting & Finance: alongside the Finance Manager, prepare and review monthly reporting (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flows, FTE), quarterly consolidated package and IFRS 16 reporting; assist in reconciliation processes and coding of invoices; support the purchase order process and monthly follow-up; provide training to departments and operational users; maintain communication with Paris HQ on internal controls; manage the Erica campaign for the Northern Europe region; participate in annual inventories as required by the French calendar; support statutory accounts audits.
* Budget: monthly analysis of sales and margin, costs by cost centre and cost type; analyze variances with latest revision, budget and previous year; provide strategy and action plans for budget control; prepare budgets and revisions in accordance with group requirements and timetable, including a 3-year budget plan; collaborate with all Heads of Departments and Retail Managers on budget planning, welfare budgets, compensation & benefits analysis.
* KPI analysis and business support: analyze KPI's (sales by nationality, product category, best sellers) and support ad-hoc business developments, profitability projects and annual audits; prepare SOPs, store opening plans, and briefs for expansions and new openings; validate supplier creations.
* IT Finance: participate in Finance / IT projects related to controlling functions; reinforce internal controls and maintain procedures; provide training on Finance tools and processes; continually seek to improve processing efficiency and controlling capabilities.
Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years' experience of which 7 years' minimum experience in a similar position within an international group.
* Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA) or Business School.
* Solid accounting knowledge with the ability to analyse, compare and interpret facts quickly. Strong Excel and system knowledge (SAP, Cegid & Cognos).
* Strong business acumen, strategic thinker, pro-active, agile and ability to work at a fast pace.
* Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels.
* A team player; Excellent English communication. French language is beneficial but not a requirement.
