NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is an exciting time to join the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Gastroenterology Service.

The pan‑NHSGGC directorate, bringing Endoscopy and Gastroenterology together under one structure, is advancing a modern, flexible strategy that supports improved services for patients and the development of a cohesive specialist team.


The Available Posts Are

* Consultant Gastroenterologist with an Interest in Hepatology (10PA) – Based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. This post supports specialist hepatology services, inpatient gastroenterology care, scheduled endoscopy lists, general gastroenterology and hepatology clinics. The role includes participation in the Gastroenterology/GI bleeding on‑call rota and outpatient activity at Lorn & Islands Hospital, Oban.
* Consultant Gastroenterologist with an Interest in Luminal Gastroenterology & Clinical Nutrition (10PA) – Based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This post supports clinical nutrition services, inpatient gastroenterology care, scheduled endoscopy lists, general gastroenterology, clinical nutrition and IBD clinics. The role includes participation in the Gastroenterology/GI bleeding on‑call rota and outpatient activity at Lorn & Islands Hospital, Oban.
* Consultant Gastroenterologist with an Interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (8PA) – Based at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. This post supports specialist IBD services, inpatient gastroenterology care, scheduled endoscopy lists, general gastroenterology and IBD clinics. The role includes participation in the Gastroenterology/GI bleeding on‑call rota and outpatient activity at Lorn & Islands Hospital, Oban.

Requirements

Applicants must hold full GMC registration with a licence to practise. UK‑trained candidates should have CCT/CESR or be within 6 months of completion at interview. Equivalent qualifications are required for international applicants.
