We’re looking for a strategic and forward-thinking leader to head up our Central Supply Chain Planning and Operational Efficiency teams. This is a high-impact role where you’ll drive performance, efficiency, and alignment across our supply chain operations. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making, and lead initiatives that support long-term business success. In return we can offer:

About the role
18. This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
19. We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
20. This role is based at one of our sites in Newcastle or the Midlands (Derby/Kettering): However there will be a need to travel regularly across the UK to visit all our manufacturing and logistics sites.
What you'll do
21. Lead our Operational Efficiency team across manufacturing, logistics, and transport functions
22. Develop team succession plans and deploy labour utilisation tools across sites
23. Introduce control systems and a Greggs Operating System to improve supply chain performance
24. Lead and coordinate central Supply Planning Team activities aligned with strategic and operational goals
25. Influence senior stakeholders to ensure site teams have the right resources to meet customer demand
26. Ensure Commercial Team is aligned and working towards shared objectives
27. Use data and BI insights to identify site improvements and lead automation studies
28. Promote a culture of customer focus, achievement, and accountability across planning and efficiency teams
29. Oversee resource planning to maximise value and support wider business initiatives
30. Ensure labour deployment meets statutory requirements and reflects best practice
31. Lead budget planning and identify cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain
32. Communicate progress and initiatives clearly across sites and leadership teams
33. Collaborate with systems and communications managers to ensure tools and messages drive engagement and efficiency
About you
We are looking for highly experienced, talented individuals with drive, who can demonstrate:
34. Proven senior management experience in an operational efficiency/workforce planning role.
35. A proven track record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction within a central supply chain function.
36. Experience of managing and delivering a significant budgetary responsibility
37. The ability to think about the wider picture and make sound decisions.
38. Experience of working with and influencing senior management.
39. Experience of developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning.
40. Extensive vocational experience
41. Strong systems knowledge and capability
