Job Summary
Reporting to R&D, this role is for a New Product Introduction (NPI) / Reliability Engineer working with our design and development teams on cutting-edge laser products. You will focus on ensuring design for manufacturing and reliability during product development, developing test plans, analyzing critical components, and supporting optical development through data analysis and troubleshooting.
You will coordinate testing across projects, support prototype and pilot production, and ensure product compliance. The role involves adapting to changing requirements, prioritizing tasks, and achieving project goals.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
* Conduct testing on systems and components, setting up data collection from various sources.
* Perform lab-based testing to optimize designs and identify weaknesses.
* Influence design and manufacturing considerations, including FMEA and DFX feedback.
* Interface with subcontractors, suppliers, and external test facilities.
* Gather customer validation data from field service.
* Maintain lab standards and create reliability models and statistical analyses.
* Build prototypes, define and test production tooling.
Education & Experience
* Experience in manufacturing, reliability testing, or related fields.
* Degree in science, technology, engineering, or equivalent experience.
* Knowledge of vibration profiles, statistics, and failure lifecycles.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and quick-learning skills.
Preferred Additional Skills
* Knowledge of NPI process, PLM software, cleanroom environment, optics, electronics, programming languages, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
