From this background, the Group has evolved to further support our clients in their drive towards decarbonisation and Net Zero, providing a wide range of energy solutions, including LED Lighting, Solar PV, Heating solutions, Electric Vehicle Charging, and Air Purification.
The Role:
As we continue to expand our Design & Build services within Solar PV, we are seeking a proactive and organised Senior Systems Architect to manage and enhance our System Architect’s function. Reporting to the Design Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring design excellence, system integration and solar product procurement.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design Process: You will be responsible for ensuring that our Systems progress in line with our Design Process with measured outputs, to programme.
· System Integration: Your system anatomy and functionality knowledge will enable you and your resources to provide system integration across the entire solution, ensuring it meets operational requirements.
· Key Measures: You will report on and be responsible for your direct reports in terms of Utilisation, Efficiency and Quality.
· People Management: Be present and visible. We are looking for a manager who can inspire, develop and nurture talent in line with respective Personal Development Plans and business needs. A maximum of 8 x Systems Architects will directly report to you. You will be highly organised, and detail driven.
· Continuous Improvement: We aim to be the market leader, so this means there is still much development across all functions. Together with the wider team, you will play a key role in shaping future services, procedures and output.
· Design Review: Responsible for detailed review of outputs, communicating feedback and tracking resubmission.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Industry Experience: Demonstratable experience at mid or senior level within Design environments, leading teams to excel. Minimum 2 years within commercial PV Design.
· Technical Knowledge: Entire Solar PV System anatomy, configuration and operation. Expert AutoCAD proficiency is a must; you will be expected to be highly software literate and adaptable.
· Project & Team Management: Strong leadership skills with experience of managing people and equipping the function for success, together. Ability to plan and manage against clear key measures. You will set priorities for your team to ensure action accountability.
· CDM Awareness: We operate within the construction sector. Therefore, every project has CDM at its core. You will have experience with Design Risk Assessment’s, Design Risk Registers (amongst others) and their role within Design, Execution & Handover.
· Communication: We require a strong cross function communicator. Ensuring alignment throughout Pre-Construction with all necessary stakeholders (internal & external) to meet requirements and deadlines of the project.
Qualifications & Experience:
· NIC/EAL Level 4 Electrical Design
· 18th Edition (BS 7671)
· Strong knowledge and experience with commercial DC Optimised PV systems and integration to wider building services.
