Powertrain Design Engineer - Creo Peterborough (site based) Mon-Fri 12 month assignment (likely to be extended) Are you an experienced in using Creo to design powertrain components or engine components? Do you have expertise in fuel systems, air systems, EGR System, or Turbochargers? If so, an exciting opportunity exists within the Component Engineering department to lead design and development of air and fuel system components. Responsibilities of the Powertrain Design Engineer – Creo include Design, Plan and deliver air/fuel system/component development projects to time, cost and quality goals Communicate design and project status and key issues to peers, stakeholders and management Lead design reviews to gain cross-functional business support for new designs, supplier nomination and capital investment Collaborate with suppliers to develop specifications and deliver quality solutions through APQP Assess technical risk through FMEA; define and coordinate simulation and validation activities (DVP&R) Investigate and resolve technical issues using 8D methodology Collaborate with Product Management to understand customer needs and design requirements Write and review technical information and technical reports to support production design release Qualifications & Experience Required of the Powertrain Design Engineer – Creo Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent knowledge/experience) 6 years of engineering or relevant experience Good understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, engine components and/or systems and component development Design experience: Highly level of expertise working in CAD and PLM systems Experience of using CAD (Creo) to design powertrain components Experience of using PLM systems (Teamcenter) Experience designing powertrain and/or engine components Regularly supporting peer reviews working with others to share learning and develop robust solutions Use of research techniques to identify solutions to problems autonomously Good understanding of manufacturing principles and processes Competitive Hourly Rate - Umbrella OR PAYE To apply, please submit a copy of your up to date CV clearly indicating your relevant experience.
