About Us STARK is a defense technology company revolutionising the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop and manufacture high performance unmanned vehicles that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost effective – giving NATO and its allies a decisive edge in the most contested environments. We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems—not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe—today. Your mission As the Autonomous Systems Engineer, you will develop and validate cutting-edge technologies ensuring our UAV platforms perform reliably in complex operational environments. Responsibilities System Design & Integration: Design and integrate autonomous systems with a focus on interoperability, ensuring seamless operation across diverse platforms and within established protocols, such as STANAG 4586 for UAS interoperability. Employ ROS2 for robotic system development, enabling flexible and efficient system integration. Utilize MATLAB and Simulink to develop and simulate control systems and algorithms, enhancing system performance and reliability. Command and Control (C2) Integration: Implement TAK protocol (Cursor on Target) to enhance command and control integration, ensuring systems are fully operable within customer-centric environments. Develop solutions that prioritize customer needs and operational effectiveness, ensuring delivery matches strategic objectives. Testing & Validation: Conduct Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop Testing (HITL) to validate system functionality and performance in simulated conditions before full deployment. Implement Verification and Validation (V&V) models for rigorous systems engineering and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Collaboration & Process Improvement: Engage in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, mission operations, and production teams to drive successful project outcomes and innovation. Support the establishment and enhancement of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development processes and improve system delivery timelines. Qualifications Solid understanding of ROS2, MATLAB, Simulink, and proficiency in using these tools for developing autonomous systems. Familiarity with TAK protocol (Cursor on Target) and STANAG 4586 standards for streamlined interoperability. Proven experience in HIL and HITL testing methodologies to ensure robust system validation. Knowledgeable in deploying V&V models for comprehensive systems engineering and QA practices. Experience in setting up and optimising CI/CD pipeline processes to facilitate modern software deployment techniques. Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across diverse functional areas.
