We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Support Assistant to work in a welcoming primary school in Washington, providing tailored support to a pupil with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
About the Role:
* Working closely on a 1:1 basis with a child requiring additional behavioural and emotional support
* Assisting the class teacher in creating a safe and structured learning environment
* Implementing individual behaviour plans and using de-escalation techniques when needed
* Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting emotional regulation and self-esteem
* Building strong, trusting relationships with the child, staff, and parents/carers
About You:
* Calm, compassionate, and confident under pressure
* Previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or additional needs (preferred but not essential)
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff and SENCO
* A genuine passion for helping young learners thrive
Requirements:
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* Relevant experience or qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, MAPA, or similar desirable)
