Contract Type - Permanent
We are seeking to recruit Band 5 1st Level Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners with current NMC registration / HCPC registration for the Anaesthetic Care Unit at Scarborough Hospital.
We would love to tell you about our team and our culture. Our area is committed to providing a high standard of patient care over two sites (Scarborough and Bridlington) covering a variety of specialties.
Our surgical specialties include: Maxillofacial, ENT, Gynaecology, Urology, Upper GI, Orthopaedics, as well as Acutes and Trauma.
We welcome applicants from both experienced and newly qualified ODPs / Nurses / Anaesthetic Nurses. No additional qualifications are required, but passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to patient-centered care are essential.

* A willingness to supervise and teach junior staff and colleagues, sharing learning through clinical supervision.
* The ability to work as an integral part of the team.
Main duties of the job
* Maintain high standards of patient-focused care according to trust policies and procedures.
* Ensure a safe and clean working environment.
* Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care, keeping accurate records.
* Communicate effectively with patients and carers to provide appropriate information.
* Promote positive relationships among staff involved in patient care.
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
* Perform duties across different wards/departments as required.
* Ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
* Participate in education and training activities.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Current NMC registration (Level 1) as a Registered Nurse or HCPC registration as an Operating Department Practitioner.
* Recognized teaching/assessing qualification.
* Teaching qualification.
* NVQ assessor qualification.
* Willingness to train as a mentor.
Experience
* Previous theatre experience at Band 5.
Knowledge
* Awareness of current healthcare issues.
* Knowledge of NHS standards of Professional Practice.
* Understanding of theatre specialties and patient needs during surgery.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practice in theatre.
* Understanding of Health and Safety / COSHH regulations.
