Role Overview:
Are you a passionate and experienced Youth Worker ready to make a real impact in young people's lives? Oldham Council is seeking a dynamic person to develop and deliver high-quality, engaging youth work across our communities with our detached team. This pivotal role involves fostering the holistic development of young people, empowering their voices, and guiding them towards positive choices and their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver high quality youth work in communities across Oldham, aiming to meet the identified needs of young people.#
* Lead on planning and delivering high quality youth work for young people in a variety of settings, using a variety of youth work methods.
* Work directly with young people in the planning and delivery of projects that will challenge, stimulate and provide new learning opportunities.
* Lead delivery of universal and targeted youth work sessions within and alongside schools, community organisations and partnership agencies.
* Work evenings and weekends, including residential work, with 80% of the time being face-to-face work and 4 evenings a week including Friday and Saturday evenings..
Key Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will be able to:
* Education & Qualifications: Relevant Youth / Community Work qualification (JNC for Youth & Community Work qualified at Level 2 equivalent or above (Desirable). Qualification not held must be willing to undertake the qualification as part of the role
* Experience: Experience of working with young people aged 8-25 years.
* Work Circumstances: Prepared to work evenings, weekends and residentials as required.
