iCaSH Specialty Doctor in Sexual Health
Location: Cambridgeshire, East of England Community Health and Care NHS Trust. Closing Date: 28 June 2026.
Overview
Provide specialist HIV and Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) care for sexual health services across the East of England for a 12‑month contract covering parental leave. Work 6 days per week (24 hours) delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care, supporting complex case management and routine services within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist HIV and GUM care – complex STI management and follow‑up.
- Perform comprehensive sexual health assessments, testing and treatment, including HIV testing, counselling and result communication.
- Contribute to prevention strategies such as PrEP, vaccination and health promotion.
- Support nurse‑led services, offering expert clinical advice.
- Conduct teaching, audit and continuous service improvement activities.
- Provide medical support and advice in clinic and by telephone to colleagues.
- Participate in induction, training and education of new staff and external partners.
- Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
- Maintain high standard documentation in paper and electronic systems.
- Adhere to clinical governance, quality outcomes and data protection regulations.
- Contribute to financial sustainability and risk management of the department.
Qualifications & Training
- Full registration and licence with the General Medical Council (GMC).
- BASHH registered trainer or willingness to undertake training for sexual health specialty.
- FSRH registered trainer or willingness to undertake training for reproductive health specialty.
- Diploma in GUM for sexual health specialty; diploma in FSRH for reproductive health specialty.
Experience
- Significant post‑registration experience in Sexual Health, HIV or Reproductive Health/Contraception specialties.
- Experience delivering contraceptive, sexual and reproductive health care.
- Exposure to clinical issues in women's health, including obstetrics, gynaecology or general practice.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality outcomes and clinical governance frameworks.
- Proficient IT skills – clinical electronic patient record systems, email and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of contraception and related guidance (e.g., Fraser guidance for young people).
- Experience in audit, research projects and service development.
- Excellent communication, patient‑centred approach and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

- Ability to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
