Senior Architectural Technician Job in Sevenoaks, Kent
Our client is an employee-owned architectural practice that now has a Senior Architectural Technician position available. This role offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, focusing on residential development projects. Responsibilities include contributing to a range of residential schemes, from large-scale housing developments to bespoke, high-end homes. The practice operates across two offices with over twenty staff members, offering services in architecture, building surveying, and project management.
Current projects include both large and small-scale residential developments and healthcare projects. Due to ongoing success, they are seeking a Senior Architectural Technician to join the residential team.
Role & Responsibilities
* Lead project management responsibilities
* Focus on residential developments for housing developers
* Produce technical drawing packages
* Prepare budget estimates, specify materials and products, write work descriptions, and develop preliminary documents
* Create design presentation materials such as boards and layouts
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, NHBC guidelines, and other relevant laws
* Assess risks and develop Health and Safety Plans in accordance with regulations
* Inspect construction sites to verify compliance with drawings and issue instructions as necessary
* Organize drawings and back up computer files regularly
* Measure existing buildings on-site as required for projects
Required Skills & Experience
* Minimum of 4 years of practical experience in the field
* Confident in project management
* Proficient in AutoCAD
* Current knowledge of UK building regulations
* Experience with UK-based residential projects is essential
* Developer-led project experience is highly desirable
