Learning Support Assistance Grade 1 Early Years Salary: TA1, Point 2 £18,379 - Point 4 £18,956 per annum Temporary Role- Term Time 32.5 hrs per week 8.30am- 15:30pm (Monday - Friday) An opportunity to work at Batchley First School. We are an inclusive first school catering for children from Nursery age to Year 4, 3-9 years old. We are looking for an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team and support learning of children in our Early Years. The Role We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Level 1 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years team. This role includes supporting children’s learning and development, as well as providing personal care, including nappy changing, for children who are not yet toilet trained. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years provision. Assist with the preparation of learning activities and resources. Provide personal care, including nappy changing, in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures. Promote independence, self-esteem, and positive behaviour. Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Record and report on children’s progress and wellbeing. Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents and carers. Essential: A warm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with young children. Willingness to undertake nappy changing and personal care duties. Good communication and teamwork skills. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Basic literacy and numeracy skills. Desirable: Experience working in an Early Years setting. A relevant Level 1 qualification in Childcare or Teaching Assistance. Paediatric First Aid certification. Performance Management All staff are expected to participate in individual performance management reviews and the personal development planning.
