Accounts Assistant – Part Time Birmingham £35,000 - £40,000 Pro Rata Company Profile An established construction business is seeking a highly experienced and reliable Accounts Assistant to join a small, close-knit finance team. With a sizeable turnover and a fast-paced environment, this role will suit someone hands-on, detail-oriented, and confident taking ownership of the purchase ledger and supporting the wider finance function. Working closely with the Finance Manager and providing cover during periods of absence, making you a key member of a team of three. What’s on offer? * 21 Days Holiday Bank Holidays * Part Time Working Hours (30 Hours) * Free Parking * Office Based What will you do as an Accounts Assistant? * Purchase Ledger – processing a high volume of invoices and applications * Input and process manual cash book transactions * Post journal and ledger entries (SAGE-based system) * Complete month-end reconciliation and assist with month-end and year-end close * Generate accurate financial statements and project costings * Manage VAT returns, including Domestic Reverse Charge and CIS compliance * Process monthly payroll * Support the Finance Manager and cover during absence What do you need as an Accounts Assistant? * Finance experience, ideally within construction * Proficiency in SAGE 200 and experience with manual cash books * A meticulous eye for detail, high accuracy * Strong journal posting and reconciliation experience Job ID: 10018
