Purpose of job/mission
To ensure that the Injection moulding machines run to the specification established by the Technician Department and that the containers are produced to the customers agreed specification – also a focus on minimizing downtime and scrap levels.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Ensure that moulding machines and ancillary equipment are in good running order. Report any defects to supervision and carry out remedial work within the technician’s level of competence.
* Ensure product arriving at the packing station meets acceptable quality standards, including visual checks, weight and correct filling, and complete all relevant paperwork.
* Remove, clean, refit, realign or carry out necessary adjustments to moulding machine parts within the technician’s competence.
* Ensure raw material supplies are constant by changing over bins. Report to supervision if a fresh bin is not available before a problem occurs.
* Maintain moulding machines, ancillary equipment and the immediate work area to a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness at all times.
Skills / Experience
* Experience working in a fast‑paced manufacturing/production environment.
* Preferably mechanical engineering experience or knowledge.
* Previous experience operating/running injection moulding machinery – training provided on specific ALPLA machinery.
* Exposure to injection moulding plastic manufacturing process.
* Good communication skills.

What you can expect working with us

£35,000 starting salary (DOE) + regular reviews and salary increases as per training and development.
