Acteon is looking to hire a Tax Compliance Specialist on a full-time, permanent basis. Based at their facility in Aberdeen, this role is key in ensuring timely and accurate UK corporate tax compliance, managing risk, and supporting tax governance across the group.
Duties & Main Responsibilities
* Prepare UK corporation tax returns and computations (primarily using Alphatax or ONESOURCE - TBD)
* Manage end-to-end UK corporate tax compliance process for the group and subsidiaries
* Liaise with external advisors to ensure accuracy and efficiency in tax compliance handover
* Implementing the tax software required for statutory reporting and final tax returns and uploading historical data
* Monitor and implement changes in UK tax legislation affecting the group
* Manage HMRC correspondence, queries, and audits
* Maintain tax accounting records, including deferred tax calculations
* Assist with the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) certification and documentation process
* Contribute to internal process improvements and automation of compliance tasks, producing and maintaining global compliance tracker
* Provide support on group-wide tax governance and risk management
* Project manage Research and Development project with external advisors
Required
* Qualified accountant or tax adviser (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent)
* Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in UK corporate tax compliance (ideally with some in-house experience)
* Strong working knowledge of UK corporation tax rules and reporting obligations
* Experience using corporate tax compliance software (e.g., Alphatax, ONESOURCE, etc.)
* Familiarity with IFRS and UK GAAP tax reporting
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently and manage deadlines across multiple entities
