Workshop Vehicle Engineer (HGV Technician) – Day Shifts | Salary up to £54,000 + Overtime

The Role
You’ll be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a varied and diverse fleet. This is a hands‑on role offering exposure to a wide range of vehicles, including:
* Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs)
* Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCVs)
* Road sweepers
* Hook loaders
* Light commercial vehicles (vans)
* Trailers and tippers
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
* Routine and preventative maintenance
* MOT preparation
* Servicing to DVSA standards
* 6‑ or 8‑weekly safety inspections
* Diagnosing and rectifying faults
* Chassis and fabrication work
* Working with hydraulics and pneumatics
* Electrical diagnostics, wiring, and repairs
* Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
About You

You will ideally have:
* A recognised qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent)
* A strong understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics
* A proactive attitude and commitment to high‑quality workmanship
Desirable (but not essential)
* IRTEC accreditation
* EV/Hybrid vehicle qualifications
* HGV Class 1 or Class 2 licence
