The Level Artist uses their talents to dress up the playable areas created by the level designers. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality environments and ensuring their finish and viability in the game.
You have an eye for those little details that make the difference and are known for your harmonious compositions. Your interest in architecture is certain, as well as nature and vegetation, and you know how to create atmospheres that captivate players.
In this role you will:
* Understand the project's design objectives;
* Respect the art direction and create strong storytelling through environment compositions;
* Collaborate with the art director, the level designers and the tech artists to understand their needs and requirements;
* Able to create the various elements required by the production of the game including meshes, textures and materials;
* Ensures optimal game performance by understanding and respecting the technical guidelines and optimizing artistic elements, while achieving the desired visual quality.
What we are looking for:
* 3+ years of experience as a Level Artist or Terrain Artist in the video games industry;
* Mastery of the modeling component of the Autodesk Maya and blender softwares (relevant experience with other similar software will be considered);
* Extensive knowledge of Photoshop, Substance Painter, and Substance Designer;
* Knowledge of Unreal Engine;
* Understanding of PBR techniques (physically based rendering) is an asset;
* Portfolio demonstrating skills in creation of 3D models, textures, UV unfolding and lighting;
* Ability to work in a team and communicate, orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner;
* A portfolio is mandatory with your application.
