Strategic Finance Business Partner (Enabling Services)
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Finance Business Partner.
North Northamptonshire Council was established in 2021. Four districts and half of one county council came together to form one of the largest unitary councils in the country.
North Northamptonshire Council has an established network of senior leaders from CEO to Assistant Director level, working together to build a supportive "one-Council" culture, which is central to their approach and helps to build solid foundations for future service improvements. This is an excellent opportunity to play an integral part in this as the Strategic Finance Business Partner.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities of the Strategic Finance Business Partner include:
1. Supporting Enabling Services including the Chief Executive, Finance, Legal, HR, Customer Services, and IT.
2. Providing effective management and control across Enabling Services for the annual revenue budget, the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, and the capital programme.
3. Ensuring overall financial governance with controls in place and effectively maintained.
4. Leading support across the organisation for Executive Directors, Assistant Directors, and Service Managers in managing the Council's finances.

The successful candidate will have drive, initiative, confidence, and creativity to shape services, focus on emerging priorities, and deliver excellent services for residents and communities.
You will be able to apply a wide range of finance skills and business acumen to shape finances that support corporate priorities and develop excellent services. Challenges are expected, but they also present career-defining opportunities.
