Marine Electrical Design Engineer
* Open to various levels of experience, salary negotiable D.O.E
* 37.5 hrs/week, reports to Head of Design
* Split between office–based design work and on–site commissioning/fault–finding
* Occasional travel required

We're working with a well–established Marine R&D/ Manufacturing company in Hampshire who are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the team. We're looking for someone demonstrable electrical design experience and strong fault–finding skills, ideally from a Marine background.
You will have
* Degree or Master's in Electrical Engineering (or related field)
* Minimum 3 years in a similar role within the marine electronics industry
* Electrical circuit design – AC/DC
* Can create and interpret schematics, technical drawings, control panel and circuit diagrams
* In–depth knowledge of marine electrical standards
* Strong fault–finding – logical, methodical approach
* Experience with electric motors, switching circuits, and motor controllers
* EPLAN and AutoCAD for design/documentation
* Good understanding of control system principles
* Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to self–manage workload
* Willing to travel for on–site commissioning
Desired but not essential
* Marine CANbus systems – NMEA2000 and ruggedised sensors
* Appreciation of PLC programming, particularly Siemens
* CodeSys 3.5 experience
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems
* Understanding of marine product certification requirements
* SIL Levels and design risk assessments
* Practical marine experience (personal boating or professional)
