Your new role
As HR Advisor, you will play a key role within a generalist HR function, providing high-quality, pragmatic advice and guidance to employees and managers across the business. Acting as a trusted first point of contact, you will support the full employee lifecycle with particular emphasis on employee relations case management.Your responsibilities will include managing disciplinary, grievance, performance and absence management matters. You’ll coach and support managers to build confidence in managing people issues, ensuring all advice is consistent, legallypliant and aligned to internal policies and procedures.
You will handle cases from initial enquiry through investigation, meetings and hearings to oue and closure, preparing documentation, coordinating meetings and ensuring accurate case records are maintained. In addition, you’ll support wider HR projects and act as a knowledgeable, professional ambassador for the People function across the business.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this HR Advisor role, you will bring:
1. Proven experience working within a People Function
2. Strong, up-to-date working knowledge of UK employment law
3. Hands-on experience managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance
4. Experience advising and guiding managers through performance management processes
5. Specific experience managing absence and Occupational Health referrals
6. Experience with HR policy including flexible working requests
7. Excellentmunication skills, both written and verbal, with the confidence to engage all management levels
8. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
9. Excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills
10. Strong IT capability, including Microsoft Office packages
You will be confident, well-recognised, professional in your approach andfortable handling sensitive information with discretion at all times.
