Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners – applications are now open. Come and join our friendly team at locations across Berkshire - Newbury, Reading, Wokingham, WAM (Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead), Bracknell and Slough.
As a Trainee PWP, your working week will be a mix of University teaching days and in-service clinical days. University days take place in person and via online teaching (subject to change at the discretion of the University of Reading).
In-service, in line with national guidance, we will expect you to be working in the office to enhance your learning and training opportunities. You’ll be primarily based at one of our 6 offices, but you may be required to travel to other offices/locations across Berkshire as needed. After successful completion of your PWP qualification, you will be required to apply for your PWP Registration through either the BPS or BABCP.
Responsibilities
* Provide high volume, low intensity interventions using cognitive behavioural therapy for mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
* Support those with long-term physical health conditions and those with employment issues, alongside the employment support team.
* Attend and pass the Talking Therapies PWP training provided through the University of Reading and achieve the Postgraduate/Graduate Certificate in Evidence-based Psychological Treatments as part of this role.
* Work in a 12-8pm shift one day per week (the remaining shifts are 8-4pm or 9-5pm; no late shifts on Fridays).
* Be based as an employee within Berkshire Talking Therapies while attending Reading University, with a mix of teaching and service days.
* Possibly travel to other locations as needed to support delivery of services.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Evidence of vocational training or further study (level 5 upwards).
* Experience working with adults with mental health difficulties.
* Willingness to work in the office and travel to other locations as needed.
* We welcome those who can offer therapy in other languages, though this is not essential for the role.
